Barcelona day 3 : Felipe Massa quotes

"The car is definitely better than it was in Jerez. We begin now to define the method to follow to continue to improve. I drove all day on hard tires and I am reasonably satisfied with our working. Tomorrow I'll try the other types of gum and we will work new settings on the car. To be as well prepared as possible for the first race of the season, it will be important to try many mileages over the last five days (of tests). "

Barcelona day 2 : Fernando Alonso quotes

"It is true that we still get information of the car, information that we already would have in our pocket.
But this car is very complex and we must continue to better understand its behaviour.
We try different components on the exhaust and elsewhere on the car. Here at the circuit and to (the mill of) Maranello, everyone works hard to analyze the data and improve performance, which takes time. Then it must be put in place and be the better prepared as possible for Melbourne (first race, March 18), where we will really know where we fit.
Our goals are ambitious, they should be because we are Ferrari: we want to be able to win in the first race.
We were not the fastest today, but not the slowest .
It is also difficult to know the level of the others . Red Bull is obviously very strong, but it could be said that McLaren and Mercedes are also strong, perhaps even more than Red Bull. This winter has been more laborious for us because our car is more complex and includes several innovations which require a greater effort on the part of all the pilots that the lead for engineers who develop and for the mechanics to make twenty hour days. It is good to have a car immediately fast, reliable, however this is not always synonymous with victory .
But I prefer having a fast and a solid car than a slow one .
We are not where we want to be currently, or in the Australia, but I remain optimistic. Still us have six days of tests then we will see.
McLaren and Ferrari had to be more creative to catch up with Red Bull and I think that it is that each team has done. McLaren and Ferrari have chosen different solutions, maybe also different philosophies. We will see the results in Melbourne first, but more importantly, in November (at the end of the Championship)."

Barcelona day 1 : Fernando Alonso quotes

"There is still much work to do, but is not this why we're here ?
I don't think we'll see a big difference in the coming days, because before we see what this car is really able to do , we must assemble all the pieces of the puzzle.
I know expectations are high, but we are fully focused on ourselves, we do nothing to what is happening around us. it's in Melbourne (at the first Grand Prix of the season, March 18) we'll begin to understand the situation. "

Fernando Alonso interview after Jerez

"This time is nothing , like those of the previous days .
Yesterday we mainly worked on the hard tires and others have used the softs, in the end we finished seventh. Today (February 10) it was the reverse. We have made our work, even if yesterday and today we had a few reliability problems which prevented us to do what we wanted.
About me, it was nice to be back in a car two months and a half after and feel all the emotions that you receive at the wheel of a F1. However much work, especially on aerodynamics and reliability. And then you have to see, it is may be a sign of having so few kilometres: last year, the first sessions, we much shot and we know all that happened later. It is a new car, there are very few parts of last year and many innovative things, it is the result of a different philosophy in other years. For example, the steering is new and we have worked very hard on it these days, now we are beginning to see the first good results. As I said before, there's more work but it does us not fear. During these four days of testing, we have towers only to collect data without intervening on the settings, so I think that when we do, we will also improve our performance. Already here in Jerez, when we made a few changes, we obtained answers that we wanted, even if it is true that the car is more complex in terms of mechanics and aerodynamics, it makes some more complicated operations. Today, we conducted only 40 laps because it took a long time to make the necessary changes to improve the car to complete our program. I think that the situation will be different in Barcelona and we will be better prepared. For us drivers, because there are so many new things to learn. We will see (on the 2012 World Championship, Editor's note), still several weeks of work before Melbourne. Here, day after day we are improved and we have confidence in the car. We need to continue in this direction and improve, it is too early to draw conclusions. The Lotus to fight for the title ? I don't know, I am pleased with the return of Kimi, it is a great driver, a great person".

Pat Fry first impressions about the F2012

"I'm not happy where we are currently. I think we have ample room to improve ourselves in relation to the position we currently occupy. Reliability is good. In terms of performance, I think that it is correct, we can improve the car, but I would not be happy until everything work properly. Our goal is not to run vacuum and slam a time. With only 12 days of testing before the first race, we must make best use of the track time we have. We were somewhat delayed by snow in Fiorano and certainly the first morning of Felipe here has been devoted to what we would have done there We are now trying to catch up. For now, he is trying to find the right package. Obviously, having only three winter test sessions instead of four somewhat complicates the things. I think we have much work to do. The base is correct. We look at the different settings and all the things we need to test. It's really about finding the right compromise everywhere. I think everything is much more condensed. So a lot of pressure on the shoulders of everyone. We must try to make decisions quickly. A week off ahead of us, but then there will be two intensive weeks and then it will be Melbourne. All world has a significant amount of work to do. This is the same for each team in the pit lane. "

Jerez 2012 : Felipe quotes after his 2 days of test

"In reality, there is still much of work. This is a brand new car. This car demand lot of work, many things to try .
Today I've completed many laps , with the single goal of trying different things on the car. It was this kind of day where we were focus on the details, where we collected  lots of data. And I'm sure it will be the same tomorrow.
It's different than in the past. the program is much more different and complicated. There is much work to do. As I said, we tried a lot of different things on car and we've done many relays.
We've not tried to slam a time but only to collect data."

Here is the Ferrari F2012 !

Ferrari unveiled its new single-seater , named F2012, on Friday February 3 in Maranello. initially Ferrari had planned a ceremony with 300 guests but the team had to cancel the festivities because of the heavy snowfalls which are slaughtered on Italy last week.
It is therefore on internet that the F2012 has been revealed!

And here are a few statements of the Ferrari leaders .
*Pat Fry :
"We took a few more risks on the car, but overall we have done a good job . But we must begin to grow at the level of development to dispose developments from the first race of the season and throughout the year."
*Nikolas Tombazis :
"There were rumors that this car was ugly and I must admit I do not speak objectively, because I do not share this view. For I got used to the bump on the nose . I think the rest of the car is the result of painstaking work . Anyway, I think the winning car will always be pretty and the one that loses will always be ugly. So for now, I like to think we have a beautiful car. We will revise this statement after the first races of the season. "
Tombazis also indicated that this Ferrari will have several new developments before the first race of the season, March 18, in Australia.
*Stefano Domenicali :
"I am sure that our car can win from the beginning. We have learned the past, and made several difficult decisions . But I am sure that our efforts will be awarded through this car .
From a technical perspective, we'll have some innovations in mechanical but also at the level of the design same of the car. We wanted to have continuity and we hope to perform well. We only have 12 days to work on the car and reach a good level of reliability, but also for testing new tires that are supplied by Pirelli. "
*Luca di Montezemolo :
"We want to win, and we want to have good conditions such as those we have had in the past. We have all the ingredients for a perfect recipe. Stefano [Domenicali, the senior team] is working so hard to make the car ready at the time, as well as to improve the internal organization of the stable .
These changes are important and give us the opportunity to have a very competitive team. All areas have been improved, and I am sure that we will be rewarded. Our supporters want ourselves to find again the path of success."

*Fernando Alonso :
"It is really different from what we have seen the past two years. It is my third season in Ferrari and I begin it with the same determination . Of course, we need to be more competitive throughout the season, but we want to see red cars on the podium. We will begin thnext  week in Jerez and we will continue to work together. I am sure that we can make it this year.
I have confidence in the skills we have in Ferrari.
We have two months to be ready for the first race. We need to fight for the title and try to include as many points as possible. We really want to be at the top of the hierarchy. We need to be as regular as possible and I am sure, sure that we will be able to obtain good results. "
*Felipe Massa :
"Let me tell you that this car has a really aggressive look, this was part of my dreams and I know there is a lot of brainstorming when there is a new car. We always wanted to develop new models and I must say that I am impressed with this car. We begin in a few days and I am sure the championship will be beautiful and very competitive."

the Ferrari arrived in Jerez, which will host the first winter tests of 2012 from 7 to 10 February. Felipe Massa will run the first two days while Fernando Alonso will roll the next two .
