* Sebastian Vettel contract has been extended until 2014 by Red Bull.
* Jean Todt said supporting the Australian Grand Prix to keep it scheduled on the calendar . He also hoped that in future the pilots, as NASCAR and Moto GP, have a number that will follow them throughout their career and not by changing the classification of their team in the constructors' championship . This number should be inscribed in large letters on their car and allow viewers to better identify the drivers.
* Bahrain declared a state of emergency for three months which is beyond the time originally planned by the FIA so that the country will decide whether or not a GP of Bahrain will take place . The FIA reported that it does not lengthen the transmission seasons period which suggests that the GP could not occur at all.
